Coast Guard Status Information

Checking the status of your captain’s license application is an important part of the process. Once you’ve submitted your paperwork, the National Maritime Center (NMC) will send you a response email containing your Mariner Reference Number and Application ID. These two pieces of information are required in order to track the progress of your application online.

Use the official U.S. Coast Guard status tool to monitor updates, ensure your documents have been received, and confirm where your application is in the review process. Having your Mariner Number and Application ID ready will make the process quick and accurate.
