Basic Knot Tying
This foundational course is designed for mariners who desire safe, efficient, and reliable line handling skills in maritime operations or everyday use on your boat. Students will gain hands-on proficiency in essential knots, bends, and hitches commonly used aboard vessels, including securing lines, joining ropes, and managing loads under tension.
Emphasis is placed on practical application, safety standards, and real-world scenarios relevant to deck operations, docking, anchoring, towing, and cargo handling. By the end of the course, mariners will demonstrate the ability to quickly select, tie, and inspect the appropriate knot for the task at hand—enhancing onboard safety, operational efficiency, and seamanship.
