Marine Radio Operator Permit Course for Professional Captains

The Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP) Course at The Captain School prepares mariners for this vital FCC license. The MROP is required to operate radiotelephone stations aboard vessels of more than six passengers, cargo ships of 300 gross tons or more, and vessels that carry radiotelegraph or single-sideband equipment.

This credential ensures captains understand proper procedures for ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore, and distress communications, helping to maintain safety and compliance while on the water. With this permit, mariners gain both the authority and the knowledge needed to manage radio communications in accordance with federal regulations.
